How It Works: Evaporation System

Step 1 A
waste solution enters the evaporation loop near the base of the Separator
tank.
Step 2 A high temperature, corrosion
resistant centrifugal pump circulates the solution through a steam driven
heat exchanger and into the separator vessel where evaporation occurs.
Step 3 As the water vapor separates
from the circulating solution, the concentration of salts in solution
increases. The water vapor travels through vent piping to a scrubber or
exhaust. When the concentration of salts reaches a pre-determined level, a
valve opens and discharges the concentrate (for example, FeSO4,
FeCl2, ZnCl, CuCl2).
