Flow Diagram:  pH Neutralization System

Step 1 The waste stream enters the pH Neutralization Tank first. Chemicals are added to this tank to adjust the pH between 8 and 9.

Step 2 The pH adjusted waste stream is pumped into the Flocculator where polymer is added.

Step 3 The treated, clarified waste water (effluent) is discharged, and the metal hydroxides settle to the bottom of the I.P.S. (Inclined Plate Settler.)

Step 4 Sludge is pumped to the Sludge Thickener Tank.

Step 5 In this dewatering phase, the Filter Press compresses the sludge into a cake.
